Hometown:
Sante Fe, NM

High School:
Pojoaque High School

Joshua Talache-Wheat is a philosophy major in the College of Arts and Letters. He was born and raised in Nambe Pueblo and is an Anbryce Scholar and a QuestBridge Match.

Joshua plans to go to law school and hopes to be an immigration and/or civil rights attorney for underprivileged people back in his home community. After getting some hands-on exposure he hopes to work in government and draw from his experience to instrument much-needed reform.

While Joshua's passions lie in law and philosophy, being the oldest of 5 allowed him to navigate the complexities of building skills with patience, understanding, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse personalities. Joshua has continued to build and hone these skills through experience working as a mentor for troubled youth with Big Brothers, working as an English teacher at Our Lady of Holy Cross in Accra, Ghana, and currently assistant coaching on the Adams High School mock trial team.

Joshua is the product of his community and is excited to give back everything he can.
